Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Escaping Me by Elizabeth Lee

Escaping Me

All she wanted to do was forget. Forget the memory of walking in on her boyfriend in the middle of, well, another girl. Forget how she had her entire life planned out. And, forget about being perfect all the time. Unfortunately, she was Whitney Vandaveer and despite the fact that she moved to the middle of nowhere—she couldn't.

He always knew he would never be more than nothing. No job, no money, no future. Cole Pritchett had accepted the fact that he would always be the screw up and he was okay with it. Until he met her.

Here's the thing they quickly found out—sometimes we all need a little help escaping who we think we are.

You have had one of those books that you say to yourself "I am going to read just a few chapters to get a feel for the book and then go to bed"? Yeah, me too. This book is one of them. Next thing I know it is 2 am and I have a a big stupid grin on my face because I just finished one of the best NA books I have read in a long while! Then I can't go to sleep because all I can do is think of....

Cole Pritchett!

That is right, there is a new BBF on the scene and he. is. HOT! He has this rough and tough exterior but on the inside he is a total softy. Growing up with less than stellar examples for parents, he has not always followed the right path in life. But what he wants more than anything is acceptance.

Whitney was a refreshing change for me. Usually we are given the virginal sweet girl who has all the guys falling at her feet. She truly was just a down to earth girl who went to the country for the summer to nurse a broken heart. She was an easy character to love.

Cole and Whitney were perfectly imperfect together! They were both exactly what the other needed. Cole gives Whitney a new found confidence that she was in desperate need of. And she gives him the acceptance he has been craving. I think I loved Whit most for letting Cole know she wanted him for him, not for who he thought she wanted him to be. And I really loved the feisty side he was able to bring out in her.

But of course things were not without complications for these two. They come from completely different worlds and learning to balance them together causes some rifts in their budding relationship. I felt like there was just the right amount of angst for the characters without it being overly done. I liked that aspect of the book because it made the story more believable.

If you are looking for a book that has a little bit of everything and one extremely hot new BBF, this is definitely one you need to pick up. And I am happy to report there is NO CLIFFHANGER!

When I'm not writing or playing the part of wife and mother, you can find me dancing back-up for Beyoncé, singing back-up for Miranda, or sunning myself on the beach with a drink in hand.  Here's the thing about being born and raised in a small town—you have a very vivid imagination!  Now, I channel it all to create stories where the girl always ends up with the right guy, first kisses are magical, and a happy ending is just that!
