REMY IS BACK.
And he is kicking ass and taking names.
He is out for redemption this season.
MINE kicks off with the start of the new fight season. There will be no doubt in your mind, Remy is in top form. He is on the top of the world with Brooke by his side again. Nothing could topple this lion off the top of his mountain.
Nothing except Brooke.
“Baby, the way you need me can only barely cover half of the way I need you.”
There are a series of miscommunications that cause some unnecessary conflict between these two in the beginning of the book. I won't say WHAT the issues are, but I WILL say, it made me want to punch Remy in his junk...HARD. His attitude about it all, while SO VERY justified, still pissed me off. But like the true stud muffin he is, he won me, err, I mean Brooke over quickly.
“You cope knowing I love you, that's how you cope. I fucking love you," he hisses.”
And just when things are finally looking up in all aspects for these two, life throws in a HUGE curveball. It is one that will rock their world on its axis. This new twist will test the strength of Remy and Brooke's love and commitment to one another in ways they have yet to face.
Mine takes these two on a completely different journey than Real did. While the first book had its ups and downs, it was more about Remy and Brooke falling in love. In Mine, they are learning to navigate their new life together and trust in their love for each other. It isn't an easy road for them by any means. There are a lot of issues they must deal with, old and new. Brooke is still dealing with the overwhelming guilt she has for leaving Remy the way she did in the last book. And Remy is trying to trust that Brooke won't run again.
"I promise. I promise, you have my heart, and you have me. You will always have me.”
Couple that with the added pressure of being on the road PLUS the new issues they couldn't have foreseen, and these two are in for a bumpy ride. The feelings Remy and Brooke have for one another are so intense, it makes this book full of emotional ups and downs. By the end though, you will not have only fallen in love with Remy all over again, but Brooke well.
