Release Date: May 13, 2014
ALL LINED UP Goodreads:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

I loved every moment of this book from the first page to the last. Being a HUGE college football fan (GO NOLES!), it was a refreshing change to read a book that not only focused on the characters but on the game itself.

Dallas has a love/hate relationship with football. Growing up the coach's daughter, she has always felt like she has taken second place to the game. Couple that with a failed relationship with a football player and it is easy to understand why she would be hesitant to ever get involved with another player, no matter how tempting his kisses are. Not that her overbearing dad would give his stamp of approval anyway.

I usually am the type that needs that bad boy in a book to fall for. The heartbreaker that knows he is the shit and isn't afraid to voice it. SO not the case with this book! Carson is the farthest you can get from bad. He is a true all around great guy. He is a walk on at Rusk University and is busting his ass to prove he deserves a place on the team. He doesn't want any complications, especially the type that comes in the form of a long-legged, snarky redhead.

And so begins a friendship that was doomed from the beginning. It is only a matter of time before neither can deny what they are really feeling. I loved every minute of their journey. It wasn't filled with tons of angst and there wasn't any real drama. It was just a story about a girl and a boy, learning to navigate their way through life. It is one of those feel good type stories that leave you happy and satisfied at the end!

I can not wait to read more books in this series!

We are SO excited to have Carson stop by Reality Bites today!

RB: Describe yourself using only 3 words.

Carson: Focused. Hard-working. Laid back. That's technically four words sorry.

RB: If you could be any superhero, who would it be and why?

Carson: Does Doctor Who count as a superhero? If not… Spiderman.

RB: I am almost afraid to ask but if I were to visit your apartment right now and open your fridge, what would I find inside?

Carson: I try to eat healthy, but like any college student, I can be taken in by a good pizza. So probably a combination of fruits, vegetables, and takeout.

RB: if you could have picked any university you wanted to play football at, which one would it have been?

Carson: I grew up watching and cheering for University of Texas, but Rusk is really the perfect fit for me. I don't mind being the underdog. Gives me something to work toward.

RB: what is the typical day of a football player like?

Carson: Most days I have one workout during the day that's usually weight-lifting or cardio. Then practice later in the afternoon/evening after classes. I usually throw in an extra run or work-out during the day though because I'm crazy like that.

RB: Well, now I am gonna get a little personal. What was the first thought you had when you realized Dallas was the coach's  daughter?

Carson: Fuck.
Wait… can I say that here?
Well… yeah. For a few seconds, that was the only word I could think. Besides that there was just this slow, sinking silence that kind of wiped everything else out.

RB: How are things going with you and Dallas?

Carson: We're good. Each day is better than the last.

RB: And my last question, where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Carson: Oh God. I wish I knew. Some days it feels like I know, and other days it's this giant blank. I just keep taking things one day at a time and try not to get too far ahead of myself. The last time I focused too much on the future, I very nearly let the perfect girl pass me by in the present. I'm not making that mistake again.

  1. Favorite sporting event... that one is hard because I haven't been to many that I enjoyed (i'm not a sports kind of person). Okay, I don't have any. BUT

I can't wait to read this this book!

  2. My favorite sports memory is probably when I flew back home to Chicago (I'm currently living in NY) for less than 36 hours just to go to the parade after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup last summer. It was crazy and last minute and expensive, but SO worth it,
